Clyde Side Events

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Clyde Side Events.

By paying a deposit or confirming a booking, you agree to the terms below.

1: BOOKING

Your booking is only secured once the agreed GBP 50 deposit has been received. Until then, your date remains available for other enquiries

2: DEPOSIT

A GBP 50 deposit is required to secure your event date. This amount will be deducted from your total balance

3: FINAL BALANCE

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the event, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

If the balance is not paid by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking

4: PAYMENTS

All payments must be made by the method agreed at the time of booking.

Any additional hours, add-ons, upgrades, or extras requested after booking must be paid in full

5: TRAVEL

Travel is included within 59 miles of Greenock.

Additional travel beyond this distance will be charged at GBP 0.50 per mile, unless otherwise agreed in writing

6: VENUE REQUIREMENTS

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the venue provides:

If access is restricted or the area is unsuitable, Clyde Side Events cannot be held responsible for reduced service or inability to operate

7: SETUP AND PACKDOWN

We require suitable access before the start of the hire period to set up and after the event to pack down.

Setup and pack down times are separate from the booked hire time unless otherwise stated

8: CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

The client is responsible for the behaviour of guests using our equipment.

Children must be supervised at all times. Guests must not misuse, move, strike, climb on, or tamper with any equipment

9: DAMAGE, LOSS OR MISUSE

The client agrees to be responsible for any loss, damage, or excessive soiling caused by guests, venue staff, or any third party connected to the event through misuse, negligence, or deliberate damage.

Charges may apply for repair, replacement, cleaning, or loss of future hire where relevant

10: SAFETY AND REFUSAL OF SERVICE

We reserve the right to refuse use of any equipment to anyone who appears intoxicated, abusive, aggressive, or likely to cause damage.

If our staff feel unsafe at any time, we may suspend or end the service without refund

11: EQUIPMENT FAILURE

In the unlikely event of equipment failure, power issues, venue issues, or other circumstances beyond our control, we will do our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Where a major failure prevents us from delivering the agreed service, our liability will be limited to a full or partial refund for the affected service only

12: DELAYS

If delayed access, venue restrictions, or other supplier delays reduce the agreed operating time, no refund will be due unless the delay was caused directly by Clyde Side Events

13: CANCELLATION BY CLIENT

All cancellations must be made in writing.

14: CANCELLATION BY CLYDE SIDE EVENTS

If we are forced to cancel due to illness, accident, severe weather, venue closure, or another circumstance beyond our control, we will refund any money paid, including the deposit, unless an alternative date or replacement service is agreed

15: FORCE MAJEURE

We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, power failure, illness, accidents, venue issues, or government restrictions

16: PRINTS, DIGITAL IMAGES AND GUESTBOOKS

Where prints, digital galleries, guestbooks, USBs, or other keepsakes are included, output may vary depending on venue lighting, guest participation, and event conditions.

We cannot guarantee every photo, video, print, or message will be perfect

17: MARKETING USE

Unless requested otherwise in writing before the event, Clyde Side Events may use photos or videos from the event for social media, website content, and promotional purposes

18: PRIVACY

We collect client details only for booking, communication, and service delivery purposes.

Any personal data we hold will be managed responsibly and not shared unnecessarily

19: OUTDOOR EVENTS

Outdoor setup is only available where agreed in advance and where suitable weather protection, stable flooring, and safe power access are provided

20: COLD SPARK & SPECIAL EFFECTS

For cold sparks or similar effects, the client must ensure venue approval has been obtained in advance.

We reserve the right not to operate these effects if conditions are unsafe or approval is not confirmed

21: COMPLAINTS

Any complaint must be made in writing within 7 days of the event. We will investigate and respond as soon as reasonably possible

22: GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland

23: BOOKING SUMMARY FOR QUOTES OR INVOICES

By paying the GBP 50 deposit, you agree to Clyde Side Events’ Terms and Conditions.

A GBP 50 deposit secures your event date and is deducted from your final balance.

The deposit is refundable if cancellation is made more than 60 days before the event.

Final balance is due 7 days before the event unless agreed otherwise.

Travel is included within 59 miles of Greenock, with additional mileage charged at GBP 0.50 per mile thereafter.

The client is responsible for suitable venue access, power, setup space, and guest behaviour.

Any damage caused by misuse may be charged.

Cancellation charges may apply depending on notice given.

Clyde Side Events may use event photos or videos for marketing unless requested otherwise in writing before the event.
